by Friedrich Schiller
directed by Stuart Seide - Théâtre du Nord-CDN
Mary Stuart is imprisoned in England, due to her claim to the throne of England held by Queen Elizabeth I. After numerous requests, Mary finally gains the opportunity to meet Queen Elizabeth (which, in reality, never happened). The two queens’ ruthless duel is performed by two charismatic actresses. This classic jewel of German theatre is a brilliant reflexion on the ambiguities of power and womanhood.
